Tara Franks, of one of Sydney’s most prestigious schools in Sydney uses the line, “Mum, I could have been a drug addict” to rebut any criticism offered by her parents.
Mrs Franks, a 55 year old Lawyer comments, “It’s baffling. It could be anything – I say that I won’t buy her a car, I won’t let her go to a party, I won’t pay for a schoolies and she begins. It’s like she thinks that anyone who isn’t a drug addict deserves some kind of reward from their parents.”
Tara says, “Mum and Dad have had it so easy with me. Honestly, I go to school, I come home from school, I eat dinner, I got to bed, I pick everything off the floor the day the cleaner is coming. And when they say ‘no’ to tiny requests I make, it’s like they have no idea how good they have it. Imagine if I was on drugs!? Imagine, it’d be years of manipulation and torture for them. All I am asking for is a car!”
Does the name ring a bell? Tara’s sister Jessica was in the news recently, with her claim, “Too poor for Europe, too rich for Youth Allowance.”
