Business Studies 2017 markers baffled as more than 20,000 unheard of companies used as case studies

“It’s almost as if they are just ‘making them up’?”

Today marked the end of ‘Business Studies’ for more than 16,902 NSW students and markers have been left baffled by the volume of ‘businesses’ that have been used as ‘case studies’ within the exam.

“It’s almost as if the student’s just make them up for the exam,”

comments a Senior Business Studies Marker, Mr Humpries,

“I’ve since googled Ab Flex gym [a business that was referenced for their use of technological influences on human resource management] – and they aren’t listed.”

When asked whether students would be marked down for discussing a business that doesn’t exist, he explains, “Oh no, I mean we don’t really read too much into a student’s answer when marking business studies. We just look for syllabus points. This subject is literally just a memory test.”

The Footnotes exclusively chatted to a Year 12 student who sat the exam today who revealed, “Of course you make up a business. I mean, you make up the business and then examples for it. It’s literally like a creative writing.”
